Look up

Where is your focus today?

On what are you fixing your gaze, your vision, your thoughts, your perspective?

The Bible gives us clear instruction in this.

We are to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and the finisher, or perfecter, of our faith.

We are to set our minds on things above, not on things on the earth.

Why?

Because the things above, the things of Heaven are eternal, sure, steadfast, unchanging.

Because the things above are glorious, uncorrupted and incorruptible.

Because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Because His word is forever settled in Heaven.

The things of earth change. They fade, they lose their lustre, they disappoint, they shatter and fall. Even the greatest empire will only endure for a season, no matter how mighty.

But the Kingdom of God endures forever.

Hallelujah!

At this time when so much is uncertain rejoice in the certain hope we have in Christ.

Rejoice in the eternal truth of His word, in the surety of His promise, for whatever God has promised it is yes and amen in Christ Jesus.

So do not be dismayed. Do not fear. Let not your hearts be troubled.

Lift your eyes to Him. Magnify Him. Worship Him. Praise Him with all your heart.

For Jesus is your rock, your peace, your solid ground.

Trust Him.

Acknowledge Him in all your ways.

Keep your focus where it needs to be.

On things above.

On our wonderful Saviour, Jesus.

As the song says

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

Look full in His wonderful face

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of His glory and grace."

Bless you all.
