As the nation celebrates the coronation of a king, we remember that this reign came because a previous reign came to an end and that this reign in its turn will come to an end.
But we serve the King who sits enthroned above the cherubim, the One whose glory is proclaimed by all of creation, the One whom angels and archangels worship, whose reign will never end. The King of kings and Lord of lords who sustains all things by the word of His power.
He is the One who sets kings upon their thrones. And He is the One to whom even the greatest monarch will bow the knee.
The pomp and circumstance, the glitter, the majesty that is on display this day is nothing compared to the glory that will forever be in the Heavenly kingdom.
Pray for King Charles that he will rule with wisdom and integrity. But above all pray that he reign with knee bended to the King of kings, ruling in the fear of the Lord.
