Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday is the day when we remember Jesus riding on a donkey into Jerusalem, beginning the final countdown for His sacrifice on the cross as God's chosen Passover Lamb.
Entering Jerusalem on a donkey was a statement of His kingship, a declaration of His fulfilment of the Zechariah prophecy.
And how they cheered.
They cried, "Hosanna to the Son of David."
They lay their coats before Him.
Palm branches were strewn before Him.
How they welcomed Him.
But how soon things changed.
In one week.
As the cheering became mockery.
As the exaltation turned to jeering.
As the same crowd that welcomed Him as king traded Him for a murderer and bayed for His blood.
How fickle humanity can be.
In it all, there was only one who remained constant.
The One who had seen this from the foundation of the world.
The One who was sent by the Father for this very purpose.
The Lord, who does not change.
Jesus, the same yesterday, today, and forever.
This world and everything in this world can change in an instant.
Opinions, circumstances, the balance of society's favour or hatred.
Peace turns to war, love turns to enmity, calm turns to storm, certainty becomes a distant memory.
And yet, there is one who will never change.
One who will never be changed.
And in Him we have a certain hope.
In Him we find our hope that is anchored in eternity.
In Him is love that never fails.
In Him is the constant, unwavering truth that will never need to bow to the shifting moods of human opinion.
He is our hope, our strength, our strong tower against the foe.
Our Lord, our God, our King.
Unchanged.
Unchanging.
Unchangeable.
Hallelujah.
All glory belongs to Him.
Forever.
